The 2014 FIFA World Cup will be held in Brazil between 12 June and 13 July 2014.  The tournament takes place in 12 host cities spread throughout Brazil.  The opening match is in the new Arena de Sao Paulo stadium, while the final will be in the refurbished Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.  Between these dates, another 62 matches take place involving 32 countries including hosts Brazil and World Champions Spain.  The other ten host cities are Belo Horizonte; capital Brasilia; Cuiabá; Curitiba; Fortalez; Manaus; Natal; Porto Alegre; Recife; and Salvador.
