The Board has decided to cancel the Dublin convention!

The reasons for this are multiple. First, the hotels seem to cover themselves with terms of payments that are too strict, meaning we have to pay in full if we cancel any day from June up to the event date.

The board does not find itself in a financial position to risk its members money if such a cancellation should take place.

  1. The EPIA does not have the financial backbone to do that.
  2. The invasion of Ukraine and Putin’s war have put a higher risk on what might happen this fall than earlier.
  3. Monkey flu has been spreading in Europe and has since May.
  4. Several suppliers and producers have communicated that they are not able to attend this year’s convention due to poor income and business in 2020 and 2021.

For our members who have already paid their dues will get a Credit Note for half of this year’s invoice. Please send you Bank details to Maryse and the refund will be organized or you advise her that you wish to keep the credit for next year.

We really hope that we can meet up in 2023 with less risk in place.

Wish you all a great summer and make sure to add lots of ice in your drinks all through the hot season!

Jack Stensland – EPIA’s President
